Details:
...Hazardous Mountain Travel this Sunday...
.A winter storm is expected to bring hazardous winter driving
conditions to the Northern Sierra Nevada and mountains of western
Plumas County on Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected Sunday
afternoon and night. Weekend travel through the mountains is
encouraged before Sunday morning if possible. Snow levels will
start around pass levels and drop to 5000 feet Sunday night.
Conditions are expected to improve on Monday as the storm winds
down.
...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE
SUNDAY NIGHT ABOVE 6000 FEET...
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Travel will be very difficult to
impossible. Tree branches could fall as well. Total snow
accumulations of 12 to 18 inches, with localized amounts up to 2
feet, are possible.
* WHERE...Western Plumas County/Lassen Park and West Slope
Northern Sierra Nevada including interstate 80 over Donner
Pass, Highway 50 over Echo Summit and Highway 88 over Carson
Pass.
* WHEN...From Sunday morning through late Sunday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant reductions in visibility are
possible.
